Boy Scouts Troop 195 takes outdoor activities seriously and scouts regularly plan activities like camping and campfire trips. Boy Scouts Troop 195 provides boys with all the guidance and camping advice they need when experiencing a scout troop camping.

Troop 195 makes sure that it plans one outdoor activity every month, which usually is camping. Scouts troop make sure that they cover different camping areas to make camping more fun and adventurous for boys. Some of the habits that are encouraged during a camping activity are cooking when in a campfire, self cleaning and care, self confidence and self reliance.

For monthly camping activities, boys are provided with permission slips three week prior to the trip. A calendar with trip schedule is also available to boys. Any request to attend the trip should be received on the time and no late request is entertained, as additional tour permits, transportation, food and other logistics are difficult to arrange at last minute.

A typical camp activity begins early Sunday morning and continues till late Sunday morning. All the expenses or fees for the camp activity are paid in advance and no refunds are made for those who cannot be the part of the trip, although exceptions are usually made by activity coordinator and treasurer. It is important that boys show up on time with their signed permission slip and trip money. Parents could also attend camp activities by speaking to scoutmasters.

Boys Scouts Troop195 activities also includes summer camps for scouts and it is important that every new scout boy attend the activities. The camp activities also allow Scouts with an opportunity to put in effort for their Merit Badges.

It is important that parents ensure that their boys are well equipped with the right camp gear. Parents and scout boys can make use of Scout Handbook to find out what’s the appropriate camping gear for outdoor activities. Some of the Scout outdoor gear essentials are pocketknife, rain gear, extra clothing, trail food, first aid kid, water bottle, matches or fire starters, map, compass, sun protection and flashlight with extra sets of batteries.

Scout boys should report with all the essentials, right clothing according to the season, appropriate footwear, a good sleeping bag and if possible blanket, mess kit that includes forks, spoon, plate, cup and bowl, cleaning kit that includes, comb, soap, towel, toothpaste, toothbrush, Ziploc bag and toilet paper.
